Block Painting, Rajasthan
Hand-carved wooden blocks meet dyed cotton to create rhythmic, repeat-pattern textiles.
Championed by crafts clusters like Bagru, near Jaipur ; this ancient technique thrives in global fashion and sustainable design.

From the land of Ancient Nalanada
Madhubani Painting, Bihar
Madhubani blooms through intricate linework, geometric borders, and natural dyes, traditionally painted by women on freshly plastered walls.

India & Beyond
Odisha and Bengal’s Pattachitra unfolds temple tales, West Bengal’s Kalighat captures lively social scenes, Rajasthan’s Miniature art preserves royal narratives, while Andhra Pradesh and Telangana’s Kalamkari flows through pen and plant dyes , Gujarat’s Kutch glimmers with mirror embroidery and Bengal’s Kantha stitches folklore into fabric.
Palat is working to revive these treasured forms through modern fashion, supporting artisans and steering the carbon-heavy fashion world toward a more sustainable future.

Explore the artistry involved in crafting these exceptional pieces
01
Reuse and Rescue
We handpick pre-loved clothes, thrifted finds and factory waste—giving what's forgotten a second chance to shine.
02
Deconstruct & Redesign
Every piece is unstitched, cut and reshaped into new silhouettes. We don't discard—We reimagine.
03
Handcraft & Revive
Artisans breathe life into each piece using Indian techniques—Patchwork, embroidery, hand block print, hand painting etc that turn the old garment into new stories.
04
Finish with Soul
Every detail is refined, inspected and celebrated—creating one-of-a-kind garments made to worn with pride.
At Palat, we believe each garment is a living canvas—reviving fading crafts and up-cycling waste into wearable art. From tribal Madhubani strokes to rare global dyeing, we journey across India and beyond to preserve lore, heritage, and individuality.
